Camanchaca operates a fully vertically integrated aquaculture salmon and shellfish operation as well as wild fishing operation. With fresh raw materials, we also produce superior quality of fish meal and fish oils.
Our name “Camanchaca” in Chilean native language means “mist over the mountain from the moist air of the ocean.”

History of Compania Pesquera Camanchaca S.A.

1965 Founder Mr. Jorge Fernandez established a Langostino fishing company in Tome, Chile, and started fishing for Jack mackerel, Mackerel, Sardine, and Anchovy.
1980 Fish meal and fish oil production began at our own processing facilities.
1987 Salmon farming started.
1989 Scallops farming began.
1990 A new salmon processing plants and salmon feed plant established in Tome.
2001 Abalone farming started and the first harvest and frozen processing began in 2005.
2003 Mussels farming started. Mussel processing plant established in 2005.
